Archiving and restoring jobs

Archiving a SMRT Portal job means moving all the files associated with that job to another location. This lets you use your storage capability more efficiently. Archived jobs:

You can easily restore jobs so that they are visible to all users of SMRT Portal.

 

Notes:

To specify an archive location (Administrator only)

  1. Click Admin, then click Change Settings.
  2. Enter a path to the archive location in the Job Archive Folder Directory Path field. This path should point to a physically separate drive, and can be a symbolic link to a drive mount.
  3. Click Apply.

To archive jobs

  1. Click the View Data tab. You see a list of all completed jobs. (If you logged in as a scientist, you see only your jobs.)
  2. (Optional) Search for a specific job: Enter any search term into the Search field and click Go. Or click Advanced and use multiple search criteria to narrow your search.

  3. (Optional) Group rows by a specific column: Click Group Rows and select the column to group by.
  4. Select one or more jobs to archive.
  5. Click Archive.

To restore archived jobs

  1. Click the View Data tab. You see a list of all completed jobs. (If you logged in as a scientist, you see only your jobs.)
  2. Check the Show Archived Jobs box. Archived jobs are listed as Archived in the Status column. (Click the Status column header to sort the table; archived jobs display at the top.)
  3. Select one or more archived jobs to restore.
  4. Click Restore. The restored jobs are now visible to all users.
