Archiving and restoring jobs
Archiving a SMRT Portal job
means moving all the files associated with that job to another location.
This lets you use your storage capability more efficiently. Archived jobs:
- Do not display in the View Data tab, which makes the job
list tables smaller and more navigable.
- Do not display in searches.
You can easily restore jobs so that they are visible to all users of
SMRT Portal.
Notes:
- You must be logged in as an administrator
or scientist to access the
controls for archiving and restoring jobs.
- If you are logged in as a scientist,
you can only archive and restore your own
jobs.
To specify an archive location (Administrator only)
- Click Admin,
then click Change Settings.
- Enter a path to the archive location in the Job
Archive Folder Directory Path field. This path should
point to a physically separate drive, and can be a symbolic link to
a drive mount.
- Click Apply.
To archive jobs
- Click the View Data
tab. You see a list of all completed
jobs. (If you logged in as a scientist,
you see only your jobs.)
(Optional) Search for a specific
job: Enter any search term into the Search field and click Go.
Or click Advanced and use
multiple search criteria to narrow your search.
- (Optional) Group
rows by a specific column: Click Group
Rows and select the column to group by.
- Select one or more jobs
to archive.
- Click Archive.
To restore archived jobs
- Click the View Data
tab. You see a list of all completed
jobs. (If you logged in as a scientist,
you see only your jobs.)
- Check the Show Archived Jobs
box. Archived jobs are listed as Archived
in the Status column. (Click
the Status column header to
sort the table; archived jobs display at the top.)
- Select one or more archived
jobs to restore.
- Click Restore. The restored
jobs are now visible to all users.
