Managing secondary analysis protocols

Note: You must be logged in as a scientist or administrator to edit or delete protocols. When you edit a protocol, it becomes available for use when creating or editing secondary analysis jobs. The protocol is also available in RS Remote, when specifying a secondary analysis protocol for a run.

To edit an existing protocol

  1. Click Design Job, then click Import and Manage.
  2. Click Manage Protocols, then select the protocol to edit.
  3. Click Edit. The Protocol Details dialog displays.
  4. (Optional) Edit the protocol description.
  5. (Optional) Edit the state. When the state is Active, the protocol is available for use both in SMRT Portal and RS Remote.
  6. (Optional) Select or deselect filtering, mapping, consensus or postprocessing modules from the scrolling lists. (Click here for details on protocol algorithms.)
  7. (Optional) Click the filtering, mapping, consensus, or postprocessing links located on the left side of the dialog and edit field values. (Information about the individual fields is available as tool tips and in this help file.)
  8. Click OK.

To delete a protocol

  1. Click Design Job, then click Import and Manage.
  2. Click Manage Protocols, then select the protocol to delete.
  3. Click Delete, then click OK in the confirmation dialog. The protocol will no longer be available in SMRT Portal or RS Remote.
